Case Study: Vintage Maximalist rebrand
As a self taught free-lance graphic designer, I am likely learning right along with you with every design change and edit you request. Even if you know you need a new logo but don't know where to go from there, I'll help brainstorm with you and create draft after draft until you begin to see your vision come to fruition. Even if it's something as simple as a sticker design never hesitate to contact me and ask a question, I'll do everything in my power to help!

Vintage Maximalist is a great example of this dedication. They were looking to rebrand and we had quite the journey from start to finish with many edits and restarts (not all documented below). In the end, this brand never launched their new name due to many extraneous circumstances. Even though the logo won't see the light of day it's still one of my favorites because of all I had to learn to get to the finished product.

See what Vintage Maximalist had to say about working with me here.
Vintage Maximalist was looking to incorporate autumn leaves and a peacock into their new logo. They sent me the below photos for inspiration. They really wanted to emphasize the idea of maximal elegance in their new branding.
I started out with a hand drawn version of the peacock you see to the left and after settling on a color pallet (below) began to add detail and color. I wanted to not only include the requested autumn leaves but also additional elements to really play
up the maximalism while remaining elegant. Hence the addition of the eucalyptus leaves and pampas grass while maintaining the basic color pallet.
During the time I was adding detail to the mascot, I had Vintage Maximalist start sending me fonts they liked and felt would encapsulate their new brand. We ended up settling on the one below but agreed on a few changes to the original font.
I wanted to find a way to allow the V and the M in the brand name to interact so as to allow them to utilize this for watermarks, stickers, etc. The second change to the overall written
logo was to incorporate a call to action and Vintage Maximalist settled on
adding the word "Shop" to the logo. This was added allowing the lower
part of the S to interact with the tail of the V.
The brand name was then incorporated back into the peacock logo giving the full-sized logo we see here. This logo gives the brand plenty of opportunity for logo variations and marketing uses in a large, recognizable logo as well as a unique brand name logo and watermark.
Vintage Maximalist decided they also wanted some minimalist logos to adapt with their changing business as they were planning to add a higher end line to their availability which would be separate from the original business. They still wanted the peacock in this new logo to maintain continuity between the two lines. After a little discussion and brainstorming (see below) we settled on embellishing the drawing on the far right.
After much trial and error the below are some of the myriad of variations we ended up with.
